The Friends’ Gift Fund helps talented Gold Coast individuals achieve their full potential in the Arts.

We invite Members and their guests to join us for an inspiring performance by past recipients of the Beverly McIlwain Scholarship.

Profiles:


  • Catherina Lee – lives in Benowa and was a student at Trinity Lutheran College: she studied violin under Professor Elizabeth Morgan at the Conservatorium in Brisbane and won many competitions which led to solo performance with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. She is now studying under Professor Shulz at the University for Music in Vienna which she joined in 2012 after an intensive course in German.
  • Stephanie Li (on cello) has just returned from Manchester

  • Stephanie Li – lives in Carrara and was a student at Emmanuel College leaving school with an OP2: she spent a semester at the Brisbane Conservatorium before leaving for UK to attend the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester where she has been a founder member of the Piccadilly Symphony Orchestra and a member of the London Rehearsal Orchestra. In addition she has been appointed a Student Representative in the College.

    Catherina Lee

Sue Lee – started as an accompanist in 2007 and has been in great demand across South East Queensland particularly at Eisteddfods, music festivals and AMEB examinations.

Brachi Tilles – graduated from the Rubin Academy in Tel-Aviv. Studied in many countries before coming to Australia in 1976 where she became Manager of the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra. She moved to Brisbane in 1996 since when she has been a soloist with the Melbourne, Queensland and Tasmanian Orchestras and performed on National radio and TV stations in Europe and Asia.
